However, the said smartphone was not featured in last year's beta party when the Samsung held an official Android 7.0 Nougat beta program. Nonetheless, Samsung Galaxy Note 5 was seen on GFXBench with Nougat on board, which may suggest a possible upgrade.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 5 was included on the GFXBench list with Android 7.0 Nougat on board, however, the page has reportedly been taken down. Nonetheless, the screenshot photo of the said listing created speculations that Samsung is now nearly done with the final phase of testing. That said, the new Android OS is likely to be released to the company's 2015 flagship phablet.
Given that this is true, Samsung Galaxy Note 5 will soon receive an Android 7.0 Nougat update. While all these indications appear to point to a forthcoming upgrade, it is still unclear when exactly the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 is getting the new OS. Also, given the fact that the Galaxy Note 7 is no longer available in the market, many believe that Samsung will give priority to the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 upgrade in order to appease the phablet fans and attract new ones, according to report.
Meanwhile, rumors also claim that Samsung Galaxy Note 5 will also have the Grace UX from the old Note 7. This interface is reported to be much better and smoother compared to the TouchWiz UI of the Samsung Galaxy Note 5. Experts believe that an upgrade to Grace UX and Android 7.0 could make the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 better.
Meantime, there is no indication yet on the release date of Samsung Galaxy Note 5 Nougat firmware to the public or beta testers.
