NBA Trade Latest News & Update: Boston Celtics Ready to Give Up Multiple Assets For To Boogie With DeMarcus Cousins

The Boston Celtics are expected to continue their pursuit of DeMarcus Cousins and all that could kick off starting Dec. 15. This is the unofficial day when teams can start off NBA trading with the Celtics likely dealing multiple young players and future picks for the all-star center.

But the real question is on whether such a move is feasible. DeMarcus Cousins has spent his entire pro career with the Sacramento Kings but nothing has blossomed so far. He is considered the cornerstone of the franchise but most are now doubting if he deserves the tag.

DeMarcus Cousins is a tough customer. The Kings have so far made five coaching changes since the Cousins era but nothing seems to be working. Many feel that team owner Vivek Ranadive may want to reconsider his stand of keeping Cousins if Sacramento is to become formidable, Sporting News reported.

The Boston Celtics have shown interest in “Boogie” Cousins though the assets they can offer have failed to get something done. The scenario could change from now until Feb. 23, 2017 and it is expected to involve multiple young players and future picks, Boston.com reported.

Looking over at the Celtics roster, names like Kelly Olynyk, Marcus Smart, Jaylen Brown or even Jae Crowder could be casualties if an NBA trade does happen. But Danny Ainge needs to be careful not to give up too much with the Celtics performing well.

Adding another star player is welcome but chemistry at this stage of the season could spoil everything they have done so far. For the Kings, realizing Cousins will have to go is possible but letting him go will need something feasible in return.

Should the NBA trade trigger be pulled, the Kings will inadvertently end up rebuilding once more. Looking at their performance for the current season thus far, that may not be a bad idea.
