While DC TV fans are still reeling over last week's multi crossover episodes featuring "Arrow," "The Flash," "Legends of Tomorrow," and "Supergirl" season 2, the show is taking a winter break. The Melissa Benoist starrer will return to The CW with new characters. In fact, Mr. Mxyzptlk is arriving in second half of series returning January 2017.
The news comes via Digital Spy, which reports that the "Superman" villain called Mr. Mxyzptlk, who is a trickster imp, is arriving in second half of series returning January 2017. When "Supergirl" season 2 returns next month following its winter break, there will be two episodes featuring Mr. Mxyzptlk.
The announcement was made last week by the Pete's Basement podcast on Twitter. Mr. Mxyzptlk is arriving in second half of series returning January 2017. There, the orange-and-purple suit clad imp will clash with Kara in "Supergirl" season 2. Mr. Mxyzptlk is originally a "Superman" villain who has several playful tricks up his sleeve, including "making buildings comes to life."
According to Heavy, the first episode of "Supergirl" season 2 will be directed by Kevin Smith. Following the multi crossover episode, Kara flew back to Earth-38 thanks to the technology created by "The Flash"'s Cisco ramon (Cisco Valdes). According to executive producer Andrew Kreisberg, viewers haven't seen the last of the Dominators, so expect them to make an appearance in the DC shows when they return from winter break.
Now that we know Mr. Mxyzptlk is arriving in second half of series returning January 2017, who will play the role in "Supergirl" season 2? According to Comicbook, the role for the "fifth-dimensional imp" hasn't been cast yet, but one thing is for sure—he's definitely one to get under the nerves of Superman.
