‘The X-Files’ Season 11 Air Date, Spoilers, News & Update: New Installment Confirmed! Dana Scully, Mulder Returning; What Happened To Their Son?

The science fiction and horror drama show "The X-Files" Season 11 had just been confirmed. While this is a really delightful news for the fans, the cast and crew are having a hard time with production as the locations are actually far from the cast's homes.

Previously, show star Gillian Anderson had stated that "The X-Files" Season 11 would not be pushing through. However, she herself was the one who confirmed that the show will be coming back for another installment. However, the exact premiere date of "The X-Files" Season 11 is still undisclosed.

According to some reports, the release date of "The X-Files" Season 11 is geared for next year, but FOX still could not release an exact date. This was largely attributed to the fact that the production team is having difficulties adjusting the schedules of the cast. As the primary shooting takes place in Vancouver, majority of the cast members actually live far, and also have other engagements.

Fans should still rejoice though, as "The X-Files" Season 11 is set to introduce new characters to give the show a fresh take. Most of the main characters would also be reprising their roles. This includes Gillian Anderson, who plays Dana Scully.

Scully brings her medical and FBI skills to the X-Files table, and will be seen again in "The X-Files" Season 11. David Duchovny and Mitch Pileggi will then be reprising their roles as Fox Mulder and Walter Skinner, respectively.

"The X-Files" Season 11 is also set to answer the hanging questions left by the previous season, as well as tighten the loose ends from the cliffhangers. This particularly applies to what actually happened to Mulder and Dana Scully, along with the fate of their son.

"The X-Files" was created by Chris Carter, and originally run from 1993 to 2002. After 14 years, the show was greenlit by the network to resume airing, with most of the main cast reprising their roles for the tenth season.
