‘The Batman’ Movie Release Date, Cast News & Update: Shooting to Start This December; Armie Hammer Joins Cast?
"The Batman" movie is still far away from hitting the big screen but fans all over are hoping to get some details on the upcoming solo movie. So far, Warner Bros. has only casually confirmed the film but they have not made any announcements yet on the exact release date.
According to reports, there's a possibility that "The Batman" will arrive in the summer of 2018. DC Comics is also said to release "Aquaman" in the same year. It's just not certain yet which of the two will come out first. But if Jeremy Irons, who plays as Alfred, is to be believed in what he said to Variety, the solo film of the protector of Gotham City will really come out during the summer season.
It's also said that shooting for "The Batman" solo film will already start before 2016 ends. This speculation surfaced after confirmed cast member Joe Manganiello appeared on "The Rich Eisen Show." Playing as iconic DC villain Deathstroke, Manganiello said that they will start at "some point this year." His statement is not clear though and there's a possibility that he just mixed things up in his schedule since 2016 is quickly coming to an end and December is a very busy month because of the Holidays.
It can also be noted that Manganiello previously said that production for "The Batman" will kick off in spring 2017. Aside from Deathstroke, another certain thing about the film is Ben Affleck's reprising of the role as Batman or Bruce Wayne. He is also said to be writing alongside DC Films boss Geoff Johns.
Rumor also has it that J.K. Simmons will return as Commissioner Gordon. Aside from him, Armie Hammer of "The Lone Ranger" may also be joining the cast. This speculation started after both Johns and Manganiello followed Hammer on Twitter. But since nothing is official yet, fans will have to stay tuned to find out more "The Batman" updates.
