PlayStation 4 Release Date, Specs, Games, Price, Tech: Jimmy Fallon Takes the PS4 For a Spin [VIDEO]

Jimmy Fallon Goes Hands On With the PlayStation 4 on Late Night

Ah, to be the host of a late night basic cable talk show: the money, the women, the unfettered access to new gaming systems. But If I'm honest with you, dear readers, mostly the first two. Actually, probably just the first, you can use that to buy the rest. Regardless, it must be the life...

Jimmy Fallon knows such a life, and took the opportunity to rub it all in our faces during last night's episode. Much like he did last February, Fallon took to demoing Sony's next-gen and soon to be released upon the world console, the PlayStation 4, with OG Ice-T. The duo and Dr. Richard Marks, Sony's Head of Research and Development, gabbed for a bit about the new DualShock 4 controller and some of the console's library before demoing Playroom where Fallon molested a few tiny robots. Perhaps not as visually entertaining as Killzone, but worth a peek. If you missed the episode, we have the important bit for you below, so check it out.

With only one more day left before release, no doubt many of you are hotly awaiting the new platform, perhaps you've even lined up for a midnight release.

Under the hood, the PlayStation 4 boasts Supercharged PC architecture, X86 CPU, Enhanced PC GPU, and 8GB Unified Memory according to the official specs.

It will support the same PlayStation Plus service as the Vita and PlayStation 3. However, a Plus subscription will be required for online multiplayer games, but not for additional media services like Netflix. Sony has also updated the Dual Shock controllers with a touch screen and improved shoulder triggers, and bundles the console with a headset.

The PlayStation 4 is set to release at midnight tonight, November 15 in North America, and on November 29 in Europe. Day one games available for the system include Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag, Battlefield 4, Call of Duty: Ghosts, Killzone: Shadow Fall, Madden NFL 25, NBA 2K14, Need for Speed: Rivals, and more. It will retail for $399. You can check out a complete list of launch titles' prices and install sizes here. Make sure you also grab the companion app, and the system update, both of which are ready to download.

Sony still has some last minute games to announce, which will come during GameTrailers TV's PS4 All Access event, tonight at 11PM EST. The company will take center stage unveil some new titles in a blaze of last minute hype for the console finally releases.
