Xbox One Release Date, Specs, Games, Price, Tech: Microsoft Offering 1000 Gamerscore for Downloadable and Retail Titles

Microsoft offering 1000 Gamerscore for Every Game on Either Retail or digital

If you are an achievement hound, this will excite you. Microsoft has confirmed that titles downloaded for Xbox One via Xbox Live service will be entitled to a 1000 gamerscore, much like those bought from retail outlets.

This was confirmed by XBLA Fans who spoke to a Microsoft Spokesperson. The official comment from the spokesperson is as follows: “On Xbox One games are games. All games follow the same policies for achievements and Gamerscore.”

The latest revelation for the same also comes following a recently revealed achievement list for Halo: Spartan Assault for both Xbox 360 and Xbox One.

The game, set to be available as a download-only title, was recently listed on the official Halo Waypoint site with a full 1000 point gamerscore for the upcoming Xbox One edition. The Xbox 360 version for the same, on the other hand, showed the standard 400 gamerscore as per the current norm as far as downloadable games are concerned.

However, that Microsoft would indeed be offering a 1000 gamerscore for its Xbox One games for both digital and download was already in contention after evidence was unearthed earlier. For example, Popcap Games tweeted as a reply to a fan confirming that Peggle 2 will have 1000 gamerscore at launch, and that was confirmed by the producer himself.
