It looks like a lot of surprises are in store for "The Vampire Diaries" season 8. The vampire series, which will end with "The Vampire Diaries" season 8, will be welcoming back star Nina Dobrev to the cast in the last few days. It seems that she will be bringing Chris Wood with her.

It can be recalled that before "The Vampire Diaries" season 8, Nina Dobrev were part of the cast of the show. Dobrev was the lead star of the paranormal romance. According to Cinema Blend, Dobrev left two seasons before "The Vampire Diaries" season 8 and is now enjoying a rising prominence as a film star. Chris Wood, on the other hand, played the role of the psychopathic warlock Kai in the fifth season of "The Vampire Diaries." Wood is now starring as Mon-El in "Supergirl" season 2.

In an interview with TV Line, Ian Somerhalder stated that there will "religious undertones" in "The Vampire Diaries" season 8. In recent episodes, it has been hinted that some characters will be going to Hell and with Kai there, along with their other nemeses, it is entirely possible that Kai will be seen again in "The Vampire Diaries" season 8. This is supported by a recent picture of star Paul Wesley with his wife "The Originals" actress Phoebe Tonkin and Chris Wood on his Facebook account.
