"The Crown" Season 2 is currently filming in London for its biggest comeback in 2017 but there is apprehension that there will be no third season. The showrunner Peter Morgan is making sure that the Monarch's Queen Elizabeth II historical drama will be produced on screen worthy of acclaim by the British royals. On the other hand, Netflix is optimistic for more seasons at most 6 to chronicle the Queen's reign and rule.

Besides, he wants to focus on the filming and the production to ensure that the storyline will be based on the real - life story of Queen Elizabeth. "The Crown" Season 2 will continue to bring back on screen Claire Foy as Queen Elizabeth II while Matt Smith will play the role of Prince Phillip. In a report by Gamenguide, other casts of the series for season 2 includes John Lithgow to play Sir Winston Churchill, Vanessa Kirby as Princess Margaret, Jared Harris (King George), Victoria Hamilton as Queen Elizabeth's mother.
In various reports, "The Crown" Season 2 has a very low viewership of only 496,000 for its first episode, even lower that "Longmire" Season 5. The show will be back for streaming in Netflix sometime in November 2017. Morgan's challenge now is how to keep the series afloat in the ratings.
