Davis, who is the frontrunner for the Best Supporting Actress trophy in the Oscars in February, is on a promotional tour for her movie with Denzel Washington "Fences." Because of her status as a frontrunner, it has been rumored that she and King are uneasy around each other in the last filming for "How To Get Away With Murder" Season 3. Paramount Pictures' decision to submit Davis in the supporting category instead of the lead might be reason that King will not be nominated for her role in "Birth of a Nation." Both actresses are also alumni of top rival acting schools, according to Vanity Fair, so there is pressure for both of them to perform well.
