‘Vikings' Season 4 Episode 13 Spoilers, Speculations: Ragnar Dies, Ivar Avenges his Death Through War

"Vikings" Season 4 Episode 13 may finally see Ragnar Lothbrok die. Ivar the Boneless will take it upon himself to avenge his father's death by waging a war against their enemies.

In "Vikings" Season 4 Episode 13, "Two Journeys," Ivar the Boneless and his father Ragnar Lothbrok end up in Wessex after their ship crashed. Only the two survived the shipwreck and they must enter the Royal Villa in Wessex in any way they can.

The trailer for "Vikings" Season 4 Episode 13 show Ragnar asking Ivar to act like a cripple so the men would not feel threatened by their presence. Ivar obliges and walks on his hands towards the gate. Given their charade works, Ivar and Ragnar end up inside the villa, where the Viking god is likely going to die.

According to historical accounts, Ragnar Lothbrok died in England. Coincidentally, this is also where he and his son are in "Vikings" Season 4 Episode 13. If the storyline in "Two Journeys" is from his true accounts, then Ragnar's demise is sealed in Episode 13.

It remains unclear though how Ragnar dies. Previous speculations claimed he dies in a pit of Snakes. He dies in King Aelle's kingdom in Northumbria. Perhaps from Wessex he gets sold to King Aelle, which would explain the scene in the trailer, which shows him handcuffed and placed inside a cage.

Naturally, if Ragnar Lothbrok dies then Ivar the Boneless will see to it that his father's death is avenged. Actor Alex Hogh, who plays Ivar, said in a recent interview that Ivar will wage a war against their enemies. Ivar will not die in "Vikings" Season 4 Episode 13 or early in the midseason, since he still has to go into battle. Hogh told Screener TV that fans will see Ivar "suited in armor and riding a chariot into war."
