Galaxy S4 Tops List of Ten Most Powerful Android Devices, According to Anomaly 2

What are the Top 10 Most Powerful Android Devices? The Results May Surprise You

Anomaly 2 is one of the best-looking mobile games around, a fact developer 11 bit studios prides themselves on. Console-quality graphics in a mobile platform is their boast, and a quick comparison of the Xbox Live and iOS versions of the first game confirms that - the game just looks stunning, no matter the platform. For the Android version of Anomaly 2 11 bit studios published a benchmark app that lets them check how everyone's tablets and smartphones were working with the game. Three months later they've updated Anomaly 2 multiple times in accordance with their findings, optimizing the framerate, graphics and even the game size to make sure everyone got the best experience with the game.

Now they've published the results via this handy infographic. The top spot is hardly a surprise, with the Galaxy S4 easily besting everyone. That device is a monster- it's top of the heap and it knows it. Number two on the list is Samsung's Galaxy Note 3, with Sony's Xperia Z1 coming in third. (Is there any surprise why Samsung seems to have cornered the Android market, with devices like these?) The NVIDIA SHIELD, a dedicated Android gaming platform, comes in at fourth. It's better than most but the device still seems to have trouble finding its market, with people not understanding why they just wouldn't buy a tablet or a phone instead of the $300 machine.

It's great to see the Android platform making up some ground in regards to gaming, because iOS used to have a lock on that thing. Now as more and more games are being designed and optimized for the platform it's really starting to come into its own, although it's still usually the case that the best Android games are also on iPhone.

Anomaly 2 is no exception to that, although it's available via Google Play and is certainly one of the best titles you can get for it. It's a brilliant take on the tower defense genre, switching things around and letting you be the aggressor. Grab it if you can, and see how your device will stack up against the other via this infographic.
