Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster News: Collector's Edition Unveiled, New Footage [VIDEO]

Square Enix Details a Collector's Edition for Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster

No doubt many of you are excited to get your hands on the upcoming Square Enix's Final Fantasy X and X-2 bundle, as it represents easily one of the standout titles of the PS2, complete with being remastered with HD visuals. Now, there's even more to for you hardcore RPG fans to be happy about. Square Enix announced today that the game is getting its own Collector's Edition.

According to a press release, the North American exclusive edition comes "enclosed within a hardcover artbook that comprises the PlayStation 3 system version of the game," and "features 40 pages of imagery from the stunning world of Spira. Alongside five lithographs of iconic artwork and characters, the packaging will also include a FINAL FANTASY X HD Remaster Original Soundtrack - with more than six hours of music set to the game's most memorable moments on a Blu-ray Disc." Or, just wait 'til someone throws it up on YouTube.

Europe and PAL territotires are also getting their own Limited Edition, but it seems a little light compared to the North American version. As the European PS Blog detailed, it "includes a 48-page art book featuring an elegant collection of concept art from the games with notes from the original Final Fantasy X and X-2 development teams, and a special message from Producer Yoshinori Kitase!"

The edition also works for players who'd rather game on the go: "Available as a 2-in-1 retail pack, the PlayStation Vita system version of the game will include FINAL FANTASY X HD Remaster on the game card and FINAL FANTASY X-2 HD Remaster as a downloadable PlayStation®Network voucher. Both titles will be available on March 18th, 2014 and will support cross-save functionality with the PlayStation 3 system."

Square-Enix and Sony are pretty proud of what they've accomplished visually with this game, and have decided to share remastered video of some of the games' standouts wedding. Below, you can see clips that shows Yuna's wedding, Kihmari's entrance, Auron, and Aeons from Final Fantasy X. Definitely impressive stuff.

Whether you get the Collector's Edition of the regular version, you'll still be able to appreciate some of the new features: Cross-Save support, PlayStation Trophies, an updated, rearranged, and remastered soundtrack, etc.

The edition releases on March 18, 2014, as is available exclusively through the Square Enix Online Store for $79.99. The regular PS3 and Vita version of the game is out in Europe on March 21.
