NBA Trade Rumors: John Wall To Miami Heat For Dragic, Heat Prepares For A Rebuild With Wall

Just three seasons ago, the Miami Heat were the NBA champions. But after the departure of Lebron James, the Heat were never the same. Rumors are circulating that Miami Heat is making moves to acquire John Wall in a bid to become relevant again.

The Miami Heat is led by veteran point guard Goran Dragic and the rising Hassan Whiteside. They were supposed to form a partnership to usher in a new era for the heat. But the tandem has so far produced disappointing results. The Heat now have a record of 8-17 and is looking to miss the playoffs for the first time in years. But it looks like Pat Riley has other plans for the Miami Heat and is already looking for another rebuild. John Wall, looks to be the answer to Pat Riley's plan.

John Wall on the other hand seems unhappy with the direction of the Washington Wizards. John Wall has the potential to be the next great point guard but is being held back by the Wizards. The Wizards have always failed to produce a competent team around a superstar like they did with Gilbert Arenas. John Wall looks to be in a similar situation. Add to that his troubling partnership with Bradley Beal, it's no wonder John Wall would want to leave the team.

A trade of Goran Dragic and Justice Winslow for John Wall and Otto Porter would be the most likely scenario for the trade. The Heat will receive a superstar in the making to build their team around and form a potentially potent duo with Hassan Whiteside. While the Wizards also get a quality point guard in Goran Dragic. Although Wall is vastly superior than Goran, Dragic will at least offer a bit of consolation for the Wizards where they could see Wall exit without receiving any compensation for the departure.

However, the problem with this trade is that Miami doesn't have any draft picks to sweeten the deal. As it is, the trade favors Miami Heat with them receiving a potential superstar while the Wizards will get a veteran point guard who is past his prime. Miami Heat can't trade their future first round pick because the NBA forbids any team from trading 2 first round picks in a row. If Miami is serious about getting John Wall, they should offer something better than this.
