Die hard fans of "The Vampire Diaries" can't seem to move on as they have threatened to boycott its final season if their favorite character Elena Gilbert won't return. Rumors at rife stating that Dobrev is all done shooting her character as Katherine, but fans are still reluctant as there was no official confirmation regarding her comeback.
As "The Vampire Diaries series' season 8 nears its return to the small screen, fans are excited but at the same time are in doubt even after reports obtained by University Herald suggesting that their Nina Dobrev is done shooting her comeback episode. But fans are now asking what would happen to the character of Elena Gilbert?
Julie Plec didn't confirm anything pertaining to the comeback of Nina but hints have been dropped. The dedicated fans of the series took social media to express what they will gonna do if there has still no confirmation from the production that Nina will reprise her role as Elena or taking the character of Katherine.
The fans are up in arms on their social media accounts and took twitter on December 12 questioning if they can boycott the show until Dobrev makes an appearance on the hit vampire series. Another user has also expressed that Elena Gilbert is the TVD itself and she will boycott the show without her.
Then several fans further tweeted that they will indeed boycott the show if Delena (Damon and Elena) and Steroline (Stefan and Caroline) won't get a happy ending. Other user stated that he doesn't feel like watching Vampire Diaries because it is not TVD without her claiming that he will just come back if Dobrev comes back, Inquisitr reported.
Dobrev was playing coy in an interview during the 2016 American Music Awards as she teased that she could be back in the series. When reporters asked if she will be making a comeback appearance in the hit vampire series, Nina respond "That is a good question," but further claimed, "you should ask the producers." Fans did notice that reluctance of Nina answering the question, and with that? They concluded that Dobrev might not come back to the show.
The final episode "The Vampire Diaries" is expected to hit the small screen in March 2017.
