Alien: Covenant' Release Date, Latest News and Update: Additional Cast Introduced, James Franco as Barson

"Alien: Covenant" is a sci-fi horror movie and it is not the same with 2012 Ridley Scott's "Promethus" as it was positioned more squarely as a movie in the Alien Saga. James Franco will portray Barson, but it is said that he will just have a small role in the movie.

Barson is the captain of the Covenant and a loving husband to Daniels. Katherine Waterston portrays the role of Daniel. Franco will appear in "Alien: Covenant" for 10 minutes or more according to Den of Geek. Some appearances will be in the later part.

Somehow, his role has significance to a certain degree. He will also appear in some viral promos especially in "Prometheus". There are speculations that Franco will be part of both "Prometheus"- TED talks one guy Pearce did and Michael Fassbender unboxing video. 

In "Rise of the Planet of the Apes", Franco plays the role of Will Rodman. He actually almost got the leading role in "The Predator" but he refused to take "Kin". Franco will be reunited on "Alien: Covenant" together with his "Pineapple Express" and "This is the End Chum". Mcbride discussed that even if he is around it has nothing to do with the economic relief in the movie. 

"Alien: Covenant" is set to launch in May 2017. It is a return to the full blooded, Aliens and panic-stricken space antics. The expectation level in the movie increases each day according to Screen Rant

The new project of Ridley Scott is a one huge riddle. The film will be out in theater in 6 months but it is still making a lot of surprise as it disclosed its characters and casts. 

James Franco is the new addition in the casting of "Alien Covenant". He is also a writer and a director that is popular in making a lot of projects. The movie will return to its horror roots and it is the fifth installment of the franchise.
