'Dunkirk' Release Date, Latest News and Update: First Trailer Released, Get Ready for World War II, Better Than 'Saving Private Ryan'?

A two minute trailer of the newest movie of Christopher Nolan "Dunkirk" focusing on the Second World War is now released in the public and it can be watched on YouTube. After a run of sci-fi mind-benders and comic book adaptations, the director's ability to make enjoyable blockbusters provide viewers some thoughts which made him one of those directors who could draw audience's attention by using his name alone.

According to Pastem, this may also be the reason why his name is the only one that appears in the new trailer of "Dunkirk" belonging to the cast and crew of the movie. Meanwhile, it is said that comparing "Dunkirk" to "Saving Private Ryan" by Steven Spielberg is hard.

The trailer of "Dunkirk" tells about the Operation Dynamo. German forces invaded the country which led to the capture of 300,000 Allied soldiers. These soldiers need to be rescued from the French port of Dunkirk by the British Navy and the hundreds of small pleasure and fishing boats forced to serve them from May 26, 1940 to June 4, 1940.

Leaflets are dropped from German planes and British soldiers get them. It is an indication that they should give up before the soldiers are bombarded on port's beaches. According to The Verge, the trailer of "Dunkirk" seemed to be more straightforward as compared to the director's previous work which relied mainly on heady concepts and twists.

The first trailer of "Dunkirk" does not speak more of the characters or the film's plot, but there are thousands of soldiers including Cillian Murphy, Tom Hardy, Mark Rylance, Kenneth Branagh and Harry Styles of One Direction. It was shown in "Dunkirk" that they want to escape from the German army by getting across the sea to England.

According to the trailer, the only weapon that they may have is hope. But, it seemed like they cannot feel that hope given the ticking bombs, the taunting German soldiers and the dying soldiers. "Dunkirk" will be out on theaters on July 19, 2017.
