NBA Trade Rumors: Orlando Magic Still Looking For A Scorer. Could Brandon Ingram And Lou Williams Be The Answer?

The Orlando Magic has been struggling to start this 2016-2017 NBA season.  With a 11-16 win loss record to start the season, the Orlando Magic are currently in 12th spot in the Eastern Conference.  At this rate, many observers say that unless something drastic changes, the Orlando Magic are going to miss this year's playoffs.

That's why the Orlando Magic have been mentioned in trade rumors these past few weeks.  It's also no secret that the Orlando Magic are searching for a scorer that would help them on the offensive end of the floor.  With an offensive efficiency rating of 98.0 points per 100 possessions, the Orlando Magic are currently ranked 29th in the NBA.  No wonder Orlando Magic General Manager stated last week that they are willing to trade some of their players just to get a scorer that they badly needed.

The latest rumor that's been buzzing around the NBA says that the Orlando Magic are in talks with the Los Angeles Lakers that has the Orlando Magic snagging 2015 NBA Sixth Man of the Year award winner Lou Williams and the number two overall pick in this year's 2016 NBA Draft Brandon Ingram.  The Orlando Magic needed a scorer and the Los Angeles Lakers seems to have they need.

In this possible trade scenario, the Los Angeles Lakers would send veteran shooting guard Lou Williams and rookie small forward Brandon Ingram to the Orlando Magic.  The Los Angeles Lakers, meanwhile, will receive power 3rd year power forward Aaron Gordon and six year veteran center Nikola Vucevic from the Orlando Magic.  This deal would definitely benefit both teams.

The Orlando Magic would get the immediate scorer that they need in Lou Williams and a dependable player in Brandon Ingram that has the potential to be big time scorer in the future.  So far this season, Lou Williams has been averaging 19.2 points, 2.5 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 1.4 steals per game in just only 25.1 minutes of playing time.  Brandon Ingram has been pretty decent in his rookie year.  The 19 year old has been averaging 7.9 points, 3.8 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game in 26.8 minutes of playing time.

As for the Los Angeles Lakers, both Aaron Gordon and Nikola Vucevic are dependable players.  Though Lou Williams is a big blow on their scoring, both Aaron Gordon and Nikola Vucevic are young and have a lot of upside that would definitely help the Los Angeles Lakers in the long run.
