NBA Trade Rumors: Brook Lopez Headed To The Milwaukee Bucks Befroe Trade Deadline?

The Brooklyn Nets are having a dismal start to their 2016-2017 NBA season.  The Brooklyn Nets showed some promise the first few games of the season but ever since Jeremy Lin went down a hamstring injury, the Brooklyn Nets are on a downward spiral.  Jeremy Lin just recently returned to the playing court and just when things look to turn around for the Brooklyn Nets, Jeremy Lin is back on the injured list with stiffness on his back.

With all this losing, it's only natural that trade rumors would be among the Brooklyn Nets players.  One of those players is Brooklyn Nets starting center Brook Lopez.

In terms of performance, Brook Lopez has been putting up very good numbers.  But those numbers don't produce wins for the Brooklyn Nets.  That's why it's probably time for a change and the Brooklyn Nets might trade the big guy.

Recent trade rumors says that the Brooklyn Nets are in talks with the Milwaukee Bucks regarding a possible deal involving the Brooklyn Nets starting center Brook Lopez.  In this proposed deal, Brook Lopez would be headed to the Milwaukee Bucks.

If this rumored deal pushes through, the Milwaukee Bucks would acquire center Brook Lopez from the Brooklyn Nets.  The Brooklyn Nets in return would receive center Greg Monroe, second year shooting guard Rashad Vaughn plus the 2018 first round draft pick of from the Milwaukee Bucks.

In acquiring Brook Lopez, the Milwaukee Bucks would definitely have another scoring threat down low in the post that was sorely lacking with Greg Monroe this season.  So far this season, Brook Lopez has been averaging 20.1 points, 5.2 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1.4 blocks per game in 28.5 minutes of playing time.  The addition of Brook Lopez would definitely help the Milwaukee Bucks push for a playoff spot.  The Milwaukee Bucks are currently in 10th place in the Eastern Conference with a 11-12 record.

The Brooklyn Nets, on the other hand, would be getting a pretty reliable center in Greg Monroe.  So far this season, Greg Monroe's performance has been down compared to last season.  Last year, Greg Monroe averaged 15.3 points, 8.8 rebounds, and 2.3 assists in 29.3 minutes of playing time.  This season, Greg Monroe's playing time has dropped to only 19 minutes as head coach Jason Kidd relegated Greg Monroe to the bench.  As a result, his stats went down also as he's only averaging 9.3 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 2.3 assists per.  Perhaps a change of scenery would be good for Greg Monroe.  The addition of shooting guard Rashad Vaugh and the 2018 first round pick would also help the Brooklyn Nets future plans.
