NBA Trade Rumors: John Wall Headed To The Los Angeles Lakers For Jordan Clarkson And Lou Williams

During the start of the 2016-2017 NBA season, the Los Angeles Lakers showed a lot of promise and surprised a lot of basketball experts. Before the start of the season, a lot of people predicted the Los Angeles Lakers to be at the bottom of the standings in the Western Conference. Nobody even projected the Los Angeles Lakers to make the playoffs this season.

Once the season the started, the Los Angeles played inspired basketball and proved a lot of doubters wrong. The Los Angeles Lakers were even in the playoff picture when they were in 8th place in the Western Conference just last month.

But in a cruel twist of fate, the Los Angeles Lakers were suddenly plagued by various injuries to their key players. As a result, the Los Angeles Lakers suddenly found themselves at the bottom of the standings and out of the playoff picture. With a 10-18 win loss record, the Los Angeles Lakers are currently in 11th place in the Western Conference. Including a 107-97 loss to the lowly Brooklyn Nets last Wednesday, the Los Angeles Lakers have lost eight games in a row.

Because of the recent slump of the Los Angeles Lakers, there are speculations that they might be willing to deal with other teams in the hopes of turning their season around while it's still early. The Washington Wizards may be one of those teams.

According to recent trade rumors, the Los Angeles Lakers are in talks of a possible deal with the Washington Wizards. The proposed deal would have All Star point guard John Wall heading to the Los Angeles Lakers.

If the proposed deal pushes through and were agreed upon by both teams, John Wall would be traded by the Washington Wizards to the Los Angeles Lakers. The Washington Wizards would then receive Filipino American point guard Jordan Clarkson, shooting guard/point guard and former NBA Sixth Man of the Year winner Lou Williams and two future first round draft picks.

The Los Angeles Lakers, in acquiring John Wall, would be getting a veteran leader that could lead a young but talented Los Angeles Lakers team. With the arrival of John Wall, D'Angelo Russell will either slide to the number two position or come off the bench.

As for the Washington Wizards, the arrival of Jordan Clarkson may not be able to fill the void left by John Wall. But the Washington Wizards have at least a young and up and coming player who has the potential to be a star. Lou Williams, on the other hand, could provide the much need bench scoring for the Washington Wizards. Plus the Washington Wizards would have two future first round draft picks which they could use to rebuild their roster.
