‘Friday the 13th: The Game’ Latest News & Updates: Extended Gameplay Trailer Is Out; Players Communicate & Take On Roadblocks To Survive

"Friday the 13th: The Game" is still in development, but Gun Media recently launched an extended game trailer, which gave more details about the multiplayer. Reportedly, developers are also working on a single player mode.

"Friday the 13th: The Game" Features an Asymmetric Multiplayer Gameplay

GameRant stated that "Friday the 13th" was supposed to launch in October 2016, but the release date has been postponed to 2017 to allow Gun Media more time to work on a single player mode. The new video did not show single player features yet, but fans can get a more in-depth look at the asymmetric multiplayer gameplay. "Friday the 13th: The Game" generally focuses on a group of campers who try to survive against the murderous Jason Voorhees.

In the "Friday the 13th," footage, gamers in the multiplayer mode try to stay alive against Jason, who has terrorized and killed several teenagers through the decades. Based on the new video, players will need to communicate to increase their chances of surviving. At some point, each player will be left alone in a big map called Higgins Haven, so they have to communicate to look for the others and regroup. They also have to look for supplies and weapons to protect themselves against the hulking killer.

"Friday the 13th: The Game" Objectives and Communication to Survive

"Friday the 13th" will let players take on vague objectives that can be completed in different ways. These can be finished by looking for certain items to escape the map. Other objectives will require "Friday the 13th" players to gather weapons that can slow down Jason. The extended gameplay trailer also lets players abandon others to be killed by Jason. "Friday the 13th" players can decide whether to help a companion caught by Jason or continue running.

The "Friday the 13th" trailer also showed that Jason will be killing victims in creative ways, and players have little to do to stop him from doing so. Jason is apparently also immune to various attacks and can easily kill players once he gets to them. "Friday the 13th: The Game" is slated to release in the first quarter of 2017 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
