Pixel People Celebrates One Year Anniversary- Chillingo Offers Major Content Update [TRAILER]

Major Content Update Now Available for Pixel People

There are a ton of free-to-play iOS games out there, but few offer as much fun as Pixel People. Chillingo has just announced that they're celebrating the game's one-year anniversary and in honor of this they've released a massive new update for the game. It's the biggest one yet, a huge number of new jobs and content.

The game now features a grand total of 365 unique professions, including special genes, and there's ten new buildings, multiple new missions and decorations. You can also start building a theme park, and the museum has been re-opened with a whole new list of things to discover. For Valentine's Day there's a special limited-time chance to find the Romantic gene, which was in a Valentine's Day update last year.

Pixel People offers an entertaining profession mechanic that lets you get new characters - to do so you splice together two different jobs and see what kind of new one comes up. For instance, mix together a Secretary and a Dreamer and get a Writer, or a Mechanic and a Police Officer and get a Firefighter. Certain professions come with new buildings and features, and you'll expand your new world (dubbed 'Utopia') in your image, place buildings and decorations. Plenty of updates have supplied players with new features and professions almost monthly.

Of course, it's FTP, which means that while things are free they still come at a cost. Getting anything done takes time, and you'll end up waiting to do so unless you speed things up with premium currency. The difference between Pixel People and most other games is that it's actually possible to earn enough of the premium currency just by playing the game and tapping on buildings- something you'd never be able to do in comparable FTP experiences.

But hey, you can try it out for yourself! It's available for free on the App Store. Happy birthday, Pixel People.
