If you think "Overwatch" has not been diverse enough; think of its newest gay superhero named Tracer. The digital Overwatch comics suggested that, the lovable Tracer is getting its much anticipated storyline and it's not like what you expected. The gay role in "Overwatch" has been hinted before, but like any other publisher, it pays to keep things under wraps until they're ready to be unveiled.
"Overwatch" artist Rachel Day previously revealed to Kotaku their plans of diversity on the game. Her statement said "We're here to build a very diverse game. We're looking globally, we're looking for all different kinds of people, different body types, all of that. Maybe we're not telling any romantic stories at the moment, but it's a possibility for the future for sure. I don't think that we'd want to exclude anybody from that kind of interaction."
In the latest "Overwatch" update, Tracer is seen kissing Emily on one scene. While Emily is not part of the regular cast and is not even a superhero, she's one of Tracer's conquest and may eventually get a standalone storyline in the future.
This latest "Overwatch" LGBT feature is included on the Tracer Reflections shown on the comic.playoverwatch website. This is Blizzard's first feature of a queer superhero; Tracer's existence extends to when the the first game was featured. She's also included on the cover of the game and featured on the logo of the upcoming "Overwatch" League.
Meanwhile, Tracer is known to set her eyes on female sniper Windowmaker. She's said to be Tracer's nemesis in the game and may soon battle out in some of the "Overwatch" quests.
