WWE Latest News & Updates: Unsuccessful brand split could lead to joint pay-per-views next year

The WWE brand split can be deemed successful since the quality of SmackDown Live has increased significantly while Monday Night Raw has its ups and downs. However, the WWE is unhappy about the results of the brand-exclusive pay-per-views.

According to Cageside Seats, TLC and Roadblock: End of the Line had no significant interest in terms of internet searches and social media scores. The WWE is now reconsidering coming back to using both brands on pay-per-views for next year.

However, these have not been confirmed but there was a talk of decreasing the number of PPVs next year. Fans are getting drowned by the number of WWE programming every week which makes them miss some PPVs.

There could be a possibility of dissolving the brand split again but it is not very beneficial for the company. The current number of stars on the roster works for both Raw and SmackDown Live. The WWE just have to know the right amount of PPVs per year.

They could always revert back to their old ways back in the mid-2000s when brand-exclusive events happen once every two months. The only joint PPVs back then was the big four: Royal Rumble, SummerSlam, Survivor Series and WrestleMania.

And to conquer the fear of fans about the possibility of ending the brand split, the USA Network just released a press release via Wrestling Inc. The cable company touted both Monday Night Raw and SmackDown Live for generating great numbers for them.

"USA was the #1 cable entertainment network on Monday nights with P18-49 and P2+, with the three-hour live WWE MONDAY NIGHT RAW garnering an average of 3.7MM total viewers P2+."

"Since moving to Tuesday nights in July, WWE SMACKDOWN LIVE saw double-digit increases: +25% P18-49 and +12% P2+, helping USA rank as the #1 cable entertainment network in its timeslot in those demos. Versus year-ago ratings, SMACKDOWN is up +46% among P18-49 and +17% among P2+."
