Threes! is Now Available on Android Devices

Prepare for addiction, Android users. The number-matching puzzle game phenomenon Threes! that swept up iOS players over the past month is now available for Android.

The game has been available on iOS since February 6, and will cost the same $1.99 on Android phones through the Google Play store. The original game was created by three-person team Sirvo, and the Android port developed by indie studio Hidden Variable.

"They're a fellow indie dev and have been great to work with," the original creators Greg Wohlwend and Asher Vollmer told Polygon.

The game has you match numbers on a limited grid, multiplying your score according to a formula when you combine the same number. It sounds a bit complicated, but the gameplay is very simple, even if getting a high score and mastering it is very challenging.

The developers also provided Polygon with this infographic, which shows some fun and interesting statistics about Threes! around the world. The game is horrendously pirated in China, for instance, with a piracy rate of 93% by their math.

The developers were happy with 10-minute play session times before launch, calling it a "huge game design hug," but since release have seen the average session time rise to more than 20 minutes. Here is the infographic:

The current high score is 808,989, which they are "pretty sure" is legitimate, but can't be absolutely positive. The game is now live on Google Play so head over to download it on mobile, or do so on your phone. The original game was written by Vollmer, with Wohlwend illustrating and Jimmy Hinson providing the music.
