New Amiibo Functionality For "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" Detailed

Last year, some reports have covered the details of the Wolf Link amiibo and how it works with "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild." Afterwards, Nintendo also announced a new collection of amiibo figures that are compatible with the RPG. These include a Rider Link, Bokoblin, Princess Zelda, a Guardian and Archer Link. However, reports noted that the company did not divulge any information about these new figures and their functions.

According to Game Rant, a YouTube clip has been uploaded, which showcases each of the new figures and their functions. It can be noted that the rear cover does not yet show the Nintendo Switch, but rather shows the compatibility with the New Nintendo 3DS and the Nintendo Wii U in the directions. The special function is also featured on the backside of the packaging.

Guardian amiibo

The first one showcased was the Guradian amiibo from "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild." Its special function is to unlock rare weapons and items, which includes a special arrow, some gears and what looks like a special bomb.

Bokoblin amiibo

This figure is made to look like one of the regular enemies that Link might encounter during his journey in the game. Its packaging indicates that it unlocks rare weapons from the start, which are shown as two special clubs.

Rider Link amiibo

This figure shows Link mounted on a horse holding a sword and wearing a hood. Using the figure apparently unlocks some rare weapons and items. Its packaging reveals a special sword and what looks like a special saddle.

Princess Zelda amiibo

The next item is a replica of the Zelda as she appears in the new RPG. Her packaging information notes that it only unlocks special equipment that looks like a metal shield with a Hylian crest.

Archer Link amiibo

The last figure featured in the video is Link aiming his bow with a special arrow nocked. Its box simply indicates that it unlocks a rare weapon, which is shown as a special bow.

In a report from IGN, sources have reported that a bunch of "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" spoilers were apparently leaked on several message boards. It seems that fans are really excited about the RPG and its impending release next week. Players now have an idea about the new amiibo figures and their functions, so they can choose what special items to unlock early in the game.
