Game of Thrones Opening Credits Sequence Gets an Animated Remake

The season four premier of "Game of Thrones" is quickly approaching, due to grace our TV screens on April 6. The HBO adaptation of the "A Song of Ice and Fire" book series is a huge hit for its incredible production values, acting, and great content. Recently we saw a fantastic fan-made trailer, which used clips from the official season 4 previews.

Now series fan Mathilde Loubes has recreated an animated version of the CGI opening credits sequence, with an attractive minimalist style. It focuses on the iconic locales shown in the show's introduction, with the well-known theme song playing along in the background.

The upcoming season promises a lot of intrigue and action, as we're left picking up the pieces from the world-shattering events that occurred at the end of season three. How exactly the show's writers choose to portray the events in the books remains to be seen, but they've promised a thrilling season in preview interviews.

I'm a big fan of the series, and love the style the video's creator chose for this remake. I really appreciate when fans create works of passion, especially when the finished product is high quality.

It's amazing the kinds of enthusiasm a popular game, show or movie can drum up among fans, inspiring works of their own based on these rich universes. This could go on to be a more extensive love letter to the culture of fan-bases and the art, costumes and other creations that come out of it. Instead, I'll just leave you with the trailer and your own thoughts on the subject, and continue marveling at how many talented people are out there.
