Monolith Productions Shares 'Middle-Earth: Shadow Of War' Gameplay Video

Late last month, a retailer accidentally leaked some content that revealed "Middle-Earth: Shadow of War" to the public. The new game is apparently the sequel to 2014's Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor", which was well-received by both fans and critics. Monolith Productions has shared sixteen minutes of gameplay, which apparently showcases everything that fans of the original game will expectedly love.

The shared video obviously highlights elements which are brought into the game. The trailer shows several strongholds that players can attempt to conquer in order to build their forces into a much larger entity. Game Rant also mentions that the world map screen allows players to shift from different battlefields. Additionally, gamers can also view the different enemies and allies present for that battle.

According to the gameplay video, another highlight of "Middle-Earth: Shadow of War" is the revamped Nemesis system featured in the original game. Monolith Productions has obviously improved the beloved feature to include important elements like loyalty and friendship, which adds more options compared to just betrayal and revenge. The footage showcases an event wherein one of the player's comrades shoots an arrow to kill a sub-boss and it all happens dynamically.

Other reports also speculate that players can forge friendship with some of their soldiers, which seems to be another feature of the new nemesis system. Meanwhile, users will still control Talion and he is still shown as a very capable warrior. Players can go solo and open up pathways for their troops and flank unaware enemies. The game's cinematic also revealed a new ring of power, which gives Talion several new skills to aid him during battle.

Players can force enemies to switch sides using the ring's powers as well as access to new mounts like a fire-breathing drake. In an article from Gamenguide, it was reported that "Middle-Earth: Shadow of War" might be Monolith Productions' first Project Scorpio game and is expected to launch on Aug. 22, 2017. The gameplay footage already shows a well-polished game that appears to be ready for launch soon.
