Hitman Movie News: Paul Walker To Play Agent 47 In New Reboot According To Report

Agent 47 is about to return to the big screen and will be played by an alumnus of "The Fast And The Furious" series, but it is not baldheaded actor.

Deadline is reporting that Paul Walker has been cast as the titular hitman in Fox's reboot of the video game adaptations. "Timothy Olyphant, the star of FX series "Justified," played Agent 47 in the original 2007 movie.

Skips Woods and Mike Finch have written the script for the new Hitman movie and Aleksander Bach will direct it. The film will be Bach's feature lengthen debut. According to Deadline, the new movie will begin shooting in Berlin and Singapore this summer after Walker completes a global press tour for "Fast And Furious 6."

The original film saw Olyphant as a gun-for-hire, who was raised from birth to be an assassin by the group known as The Organization. The movie was told through flash back scenes with Agent 47 narrating his life story.

Production of the first film began back in 2003 and the movie was suppose to star Vin Diesel as Agent 47, but the actor dropped out of the picture in December 2006, which led to Olyphant taking the role of the assassin.

The film received most negative review upon its release and review aggregating website Rotten Tomatoes currently has the film rated at 14 percent based on 101 reviews. Metacritic also has the film with a low rating at 35-out-of-100.

However, the film has grossed over $128 million worldwide between its box office sales and domestic DVD sales, according to movie website The Numbers. The film's original production budget was only $17.5 million, so the movie is somewhat of a financial success.
