‘The Last Guardian’ Release Date, News & Update: PS4 Game Ready To Launch; ‘Ico,’ ‘Shadow Of The Colossus’ Print On Limited Supply

"The Last Guardian" fans will surely rejoice to know that Sony Interactive has finally set a date for the launch of this much awaited video game in PS4. It was producer Jun Yoshino who confirmed the announcement through his tweet that the game has finally gone gold.

Gamers have been waiting for almost 10 years for the release of "The Last Guardian." In 2007, game developers announced its release but things happen, and it has been delayed for several times. Also, instead of being released through PS3, the game finds its home in PS4.

"The Last Guardian," developed by genDESIGN and SIE Japan Studio, has a gameplay element coming from previous games "Ico" in 2001 and "Shadow of the Colossus" in 2005. It is about a boy who has a friend named Trico which is a giant half-bird half-mammal. The duo will work as a team to escape the guards that are chasing them.

Players of "The Last Guardian" need to master how to tame Trico like they would to a real pet or animal by rewarding it with food. The boy, though unarmed, can do actions like the gameplay in "Ico" and "Shadow of the Colossus." He can climb, jump, run and basically do other activities.

For the avid fans of "The Last Guardian," it might be noteworthy to know that Cook & Becker is releasing art works based on "Ico" and "Shadow of the Colossus." The former comes in 34 x 40 inches, while the latter measures 28 x 40 inches.

Game Spot reported that there are limited supplies of "The Last Guardian" art prints. "Ico" and "Shadow of the Colossus" have only 500 copies each which is described as licensed, museum-grade giclee prints, and comes with a certificate of authenticity. Each print starts at $95, depending if you want to have it framed.

"The Last Guardian" will be released on Dec 6 in North America, Japan and EU, Dec 7 in Australia and Dec 9 in UK. Stay tuned to GamenGuide for the latest updates.
