Currently number one on the Billboard chart, ''Black Beatles'' continues to make the listeners dance. Minaj released her own remix of the song and titled it "Black Barbie" bedazzling the song with her distinctive sound.
"Black Beatles" was made well-known worldwide thanks to the viral Mannequin Challenge. The Mannequin Challenge trended with known celebrities taking part, even Hillary Clinton herself. The Mannequin Challenge dares the participants to inhibit movement until an allowable period of time. The song by Rae Sremmurd seemed fit to be the challenge's appointed background music.The Mannequin Challenge became a worldwide sensation and so has "Black Beatles."
The song went to number one on Billboard's Top 100, dethroning ''Closer'' by The Chainsmokers ft. Halsey. "Black Beatles" lingered for 12 weeks at the top spot, catching the public's attention, especially that of Nicki Minaj. Rae Sremmurds became the newly hailed top-selling and most-streamed song of the week.
Nicki Minaj's wit once again resurfaced with her version. The "Super Bass" hitmaker released her own version of "Black Beatles," calling her own "Black Barbie". In one of the lyrics of the remix, it says that Donald Trump is asking Nicki Minaj to go home. "Black Barbie" is expected to get more hype as radio stations are now beginning to play the song on-air.
This is not the first time Nicki Minaj and Rae Sremmurd crossed paths. Minaj previously teamed with the duo for her Pink Print Tour. They also worked together on songs like the "No Flex Zone" remix and the SremmLife standout "Throw Sum Mo." Nicki Minaj looks back at their friendship and is grateful for the duo.
