Xbox Latest News & Update: Xbox Boss Praises Nintendo; Does This Mean We’ll See Mario on Xbox Platforms Soon?

Phil Spencer, the head of Xbox, may be formulating plans for yet another Microsoft-Nintendo collab after expressing his interest in bringing "Super Mario" to Xbox platforms. Spencer's recent statements could pave way for the rivals to close in on a partnership in the future, reports say.

In an interview with AusGamers, Spencer mentioned Microsoft's collaboration with Nintendo. Previously, the two gaming giants worked together in bringing "Minecraft" to Nintendo's Wii U. Game-watchers are now speculating that the "Super Mario" games could be possibly brought to the Xbox consoles.

"It's been a great partnership on Minecraft," Spencer said. "... I mean if that paid dividends down the road that lead to something else, that would be fantastic. ... I'd love to see Mario on Xbox." Xbox's master and overlord later added that Nintendo has by far the most stabilized first-party of anybody.

Spencer had mentioned his interest in seeing a Nintendo and Microsoft partnership before. It was last year that the Xbox exec reaffirmed fans that Banjo be included in the Super Smash Bros roster. Responding to a fan on Twitter, Spencer said he was open to the idea.

Will We See Mario On The Xbox Scorpio?

Meanwhile, Microsoft is getting its hands busy with the Xbox Scorpio. The company's latest console is going to cost more than the Xbox One S, as confirmed by Spencer himself, in a GamenGuide report. Should Nintendo and Microsoft's partnership be carried out, does this mean a Mario will appear on Project Scorpio?

Nintendo, on the other hand, recently revealed a new Mario game for Nintendo Switch. The company seems to echo Spencer's fanaticism, as it recently congratulated Microsoft on the original Xbox's 15-year anniversary on Twitter. In the meantime, we are yet to find out where Spencer's statement would lead to.
