Android 7.0 Nougat News & Update: Which Smartphone Models have the Latest Android OS? See the List Here!

Android 7.0 Nougat was officially released by Google on Aug. 22. The very first mobile device that made developments to adjust to the new Android operating system was LG Electronics.

The Korean tech giant unveiled its LG V20 in September and it was the very first smartphone to sport the Android 7.0 Nougat. The latest OS is the seventh major upgrade created by Google.

Now, as days go by, more and more mobile phone companies are incorporating its devices to work with the Android 7.0 Nougat. As a buyer of smartphones, here is a list of phones that have already been upgraded to the latest OS:

Sony has jumped on the bandwagon when it announced that it is fitting the Android 7.0 Nougat to its Xperia smartphone series. "We're making Nougat available to Xperia XZ, X Compact, XA Ultra, XA, X Performance, X, Z5, Z5 Compact, Z5 Premium, Z4 Tablet and Z3+," the Sony Mobile Team stated on its blog site.

The team added that they are working hard to bring Android 7.0 Nougat to as many of their devices as possible and do it as fast as they can. So far, the Sony Xperia XZ have already been upgraded.

Next, a few weeks ago, OnePlus revealed that it will be integrating the beta version of Android 7.0 Nougat to its OnePlus 3 units around the end of November. It was added that the company is planning to release the full version in December.

OnePlus did not break its promise as OnePlus 3 just received its update for Android 7.0 Nougat via OnePlus' Android operating system called OxygenOS Open Beta 8. Moreover, aside from the standard Nougat features like the split screen, the unit now have the direct reply option too.

Also, Verizon announced that LG G5 was also updated to Android 7.0 Nougat. This update to the specified LG smartphone is now official as build VS98726B.

Meanwhile, HTC, Samsung, and Huawei also divulged their plan to roll out Android 7.0 Nougat to their smartphones. Most probably, these companies will have the Android OS in their units within the first quarter of 2017.
