'Guilty Gear Xrd Rev 2' Adds Baiken & Answer, Gameplay Details & Price Information

Right after Arc System Works' Fighting Game Award 2016 tournament, fans were treated to a surprise with the reveal of "Guilty Gear Xrd Rev 2." The latest fighting game expansion is expected to release sometime this spring of 2017. Its trailer also revealed two characters joining the cast of fighters, namely Baiken and Answer.

The game is reportedly coming to PS4, PS3 and Steam, according to Siliconera. They confirmed that there will be some new story mode content added to the game. The existing roster will are also supposedly getting new moves when the expansion hits PC and consoles. PS3, PC and PS4 users can access the new content as a Paid DLC, while speculations claim a retail copy will be exclusive for the PS4 version only. The retail copy and DLC upgrade prices have will apparently be revealed at a later time.

One of the two incoming characters is Answer, which in the game's story mode presentation, apparently works with Chipp as his chief of staff. The second character Baiken, is no stranger to "Guilty Gear Xrd Revelator" players, since she also appeared in the game's story mode helping out Kum Haehyun. The trailer showcased some of their attacks and moves and also their player intros and win poses. "Guilty Gear Xrd Rev 2" will have a location test scheduled on Jan. 20-22 in Tokyo and Osaka. The update is expected to hit arcades first, with the console and PC released to follow at a later date.

The fighting game expansion aims to introduce more content for some of the cast. DLC characters from the Revelator game did not have an episode story in arcade mode. The new update is rumored to add the missing components for Dizzy, Jam, Kum Haehyun and Raven. Online mode will also receive some tweaks and new features, Event Hubs reports.

In a previous article from Shoryuken, fans were trolled when an image of Baiken appeared. The image was confirmed to be a fake and was made through Photoshop, which disappointed eager fans. Arc System Works possibly listened to their fans demands, which is why "Guilty Gear Xrd Rev 2" officially included her into the roster.
