"Sonic Mania" fans may now opt to reserve their very own "Sonic Mania Collector's Edition" which has just been restocked over at Amazon. As of this writing, both GameStop and Best Buy are yet to offer pre-orders for "Sonic Mania Collector's Edition" since they are both out of stock. It is expected that the collector's edition will be launched in Spring 2017.
Collector's Edition Releases In August
Amazon had previously sold out of the Collector's Edition and only recently has the listing gone back up on the retailer's site, Nintendo Everything reported. Amazon is currently offering pre-orders for the "Sonic Mania Collector's Edition" with a price tag of $69.98. It should be noted that the game will be rolling out on the recently launched hybrid console Nintendo Switch.
The online listing noted that the "Sonic Mania Collector's Edition" will be released on August 31. The bundle will be packed in a Deluxe "SEGA Genesis" Collector's Box. The box will also include a 12-inch Classic Sonic Statue with a SEGA Genesis Base.
In addition, a Metallic Collector's Card with the digital game download code is available. A SEGA Cartridge Cast with a Golden Ring is also bundled in the pack. Note that the power switch may be turned on to trigger the "SEEGAA" startup audio.
New Sonic Gameplay Revealed
In other news, the "Sonic Mania" developers just revealed footage of the upcoming 2D platformer. The video is dubbed in Japanese and features Sonic dashing through the new Green Hill Zone Act 2. Previous reports reveal that the exclusive setting will be expanded upon the tropical setting of Act 1, PlayStation Lifestyle.net reported.
"Sonic Mania" is set to feature new obstacles and secrets to uncover as well as several new mechanics. The upcoming title is expected to be one for the fans as it comes with the nostalgia the brand is known for. SEGA is further expected to launch "Sonic Forces" in late 2017.
