All of the major NBA trades and free-agent signings were made official on July 6. That gave 2K the license to start releasing screenshots of top players in their new uniforms, and it should also give the publisher the go-ahead to release more screenshots of the new game.

This is always a big hit around this time ahead of the game's release. The first players shown from the new game are Los Angeles Lakers stars LeBron James and NBA 2K20 cover athlete Anthony Davis.

You can see the image above.

James was last year's cover athlete, so two different Lakers stars will be featured on consecutive versions of the game. That's the first time that has happened in NBA 2K history. Neither player's jersey number is depicted, although it is believed James is returning to the No. 6 he wore for four years with the Miami Heat, and Davis will keep the No. 23 he has worn since he came into the league with the New Orleans Pelicans.
