'Genshin Impact' Version 2.5 Update Guide: New Character, Enemies, and More + Kamisato Ayato Confirmed for Version 2.6 Update

miHoYo revealed in their recent livestream a trailer that showed the things Genshin Impact players could expect from the multiplayer online role-playing game's incoming Version 2.5 Update.

These include the addition of the new character, Yae Miko, new events, and story quests.

The game developers also announced that Kamisato Ayato, the brother of Kamisato Ayaka, is confirmed to appear in the game and will be included in its roster for its Version 2.6 Update.

What to Expect from Version 2.5 Update

In the trailer revealed during the livestream, mIHoYo gave a sneak peek at Yae Miko and what she could do in Genshin Impact. According to VG247.com, the head priestess of Inazuma is a four-star Electro user and wields a catalyst.

Upon entering the battlefield, she can deal massive damage to enemies through the Electro traps she will be leaving. If they are interrupted, they will deal additional damage.

Additionally, according to Siliconera, her Elemental Skill lets her summon lightning down to them, dealing area-of-effect (AoE) damage.

According to Kotaku, Yae will also have a dedicated character story quest that will coincide with the second chapter of Raiden Shogun's new character story quest. Both of these story quests will reveal more information regarding the Inazuma and its history.

The trailer also revealed that the version update brings the players back to Enkanomiya where they will encounter a new enemy in the form of Shadow Husks, powerful humanoid soldiers that buffs everyone around them after hitting a character's shield.

Version 2.5 Update will also bring in the new Three Realms Gateway Offering event that gives players a chance to explore Enkanomiya while they will receive an item that they need to maintain its energy level to defeat familiar events in the area.

They will also have the chance to become bartenders and mix drinks for the characters with The Divine Ingenuity minigame.

Genshin Impact's Version 2.5 Update will be rolled out on February 16 for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and smartphones.

Ayato Confirmed for Version 2.6 Update

miHoYo also confirmed in the same livestream that Kamisato Ayato will appear in Genshin Impact as a playable character for the game's Version 2.6 Update.

According to Gamepur, this was part of the developers' "drip marketing" campaign in which they reveal a new character ahead of the next version update.

Before the announcement, several dataminers and leakers posted information regarding the new character days ago on Reddit. miHoYo then confirmed several of the leaks in the livestream, revealing that he is a 5-Star Hydro user that wields a sword.

They also fleshed out his in-game lore. According to PCGamesN, Kamisato is the head of the Yashiro Commission that maintains the prosperity and stability of Inazuma. He is also the current head of the Kamisato Clan.

Kamisato Ayato will be included in Genshin Impact's roster once the game's Version 2.6 Update is released on future dates.
