When you say Alternate Reality games, these are titles that use real-world elements to create the gaming setup, characters, etc.

Some ARGs are even based on your real neighborhood, allowing you to visit areas that were copied by video game companies.

On the other hand, AR games rely on the actual real world as your game setup. This means that your characters can be right beside you, your friends, and your family members.

One of the most popular AR titles is "Pokemon GO." If you are a fan of this mobile game, then you already know that you it encourages to go outside your house to find new pocket monsters that you can catch.

Now that you know what they are, it is time to know their differences and similarities.

Differences and Similarities

When it comes to similarities, ARGs and AR games both rely on advanced visual effects to create virtual worlds and virtual characters.

Aside from this, another similarity is that AR titles and ARGs don't really need to be video games. The techs used to create them can also be integrated into other innovations.

On the other hand, there are a lot of differences between these two types of video games. The first one is the gamer's perspective.

When playing augmented reality titles, you will usually be in the same area together with the AR characters. You can sit on your bed.

You can see them while you pan to the left or right. On the other hand, ARGs require you to wear specific gaming devices to enter the real-world virtual simulation.

This will allow you to see the gaming setup just like how you see the real world.
