Baldur's Gate 3 is available on multiple platforms. However, Xbox players have found that the dreaded "save bug" is still present even after a supposed patch to resolve this particular issue was released not long ago. Developer Larian Studios has acknowledged this and is working on a more permanent fix. In the meantime, the company has offered a temporary solution.

Save Bug

Larian Studios tweeted that Xbox players may experience the dreaded "save bug" whenever they exit the game immediately after saving. "The game thinks the save was successful but due to a firmware issue, the save file is not fully committed to disk yet," the company added.

The development company behind Baldur's Gate 3 has already notified Microsoft about this particular issue. However, because most organizations have a skeletal workforce due to the holidays, a more permanent solution may take a while before it will be released.

Temporary Workaround

For those who are playing Baldur's Gate 3 on Xbox, Larian has offered a workaround that involves the cross-save feature. To take advantage of this feature, players need to sign up for a Larian account if they haven't already.

Next, fire up the game and go to the settings menu. Players can then activate the cross-save feature from there. They will be asked to link both their Xbox and Larian accounts. Input the necessary information to proceed.

Once that is done, the last five saved games will be uploaded to Larian's official servers. This gives players some backups for whenever they experience the saved game bug that still lingers on Xbox.

It is worth mentioning that players must wait until the "Syncing cloud save" message disappears. This is to signify that the upload process has been completed. It should not take long, so players must be patient until it is finished. Players can then disable cross-save after this is done.

Players who may encounter this issue again can just reactive cross-saves from the settings menu to download the last five saves they have uploaded. The company said that it will make this process a lot more seamless and far less complicated in the future.

The tweet ends with the company promising to address this problem at the soonest possible time.

Other Bugs

While it is good that the company has acknowledged the save bug and is working with Microsoft to resolve the issue, it seems that it is not the only problem that is plaguing Baldur's Gate 3 players.

User MrsGeekyLatina said that they had experienced getting stuck on "finding lobbies" whenever they created a multiplayer session. They added that the game would crash occasionally, prompting them to relaunch the game.

Another user on X/Twitter replied that the game's multiplayer aspect needs some work. They shared that they get kicked out of a game whenever they play with their friends.

Over on PC, User RRocheM50A1 said that Baldur's Gate 3 crashes if the game is left idle for a few minutes.

With more and more people going back to the office, hopefully, the issues that players are facing will be resolved soon.

Baldur's Gate 3 is available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
