What Are Pawns?

Pawns, mystifying beings from the mysterious realm of The Rift, are integral to the Dragon's Dogma 2 experience. Their primary objective is to assist the Arisen in their quest to confront the Dragon. Pawns exhibit a remarkable level of loyalty, responding to the Arisen's commands with unwavering dedication.

In essence, Pawns serve as companions and party members, offering invaluable assistance both in and out of combat. They provide guidance, collect items, and offer advice on quests, enhancing the player's overall journey.

How To Get Pawns in Dragon's Dogma 2

Create Your Main Pawn During The Tutorial

Upon embarking on the adventure, players are introduced to their Main Pawn, a customizable companion tethered to the Arisen. Crafting your Main Pawn involves selecting a vocation and inclination that complements your playstyle. This pivotal companion remains a constant throughout the game, accompanying the Arisen on their perilous journey.

Hire Additional Pawns From Riftstones Or The Open World

Expanding your party beyond the Main Pawn involves hiring additional Pawns from Riftstones or encountering them while exploring the game world. Riftstones serve as portals to The Rift, where players can peruse a selection of other players' Main Pawns for hire. Alternatively, Pawns can be found roaming the landscape, offering their services to the Arisen for a fee.

While the Main Pawn stays by your side, two additional Pawns can be recruited to bolster your party. However, these hired Pawns do not level up alongside the player and cannot be customized. To dismiss a Pawn, simply converse with them and bid them farewell, ensuring to express gratitude for their assistance.

How To Find Friends' and Specific Pawns

For those seeking the aid of familiar companions or specific Pawns, accessing friends' Pawns requires navigation through the Riftstone menu. By selecting "Search For A Pawn" and opting for "Friends' Pawns," players can enlist the support of allies from their gaming network.

Alternatively, if seeking a friend's Pawn from a different gaming platform or encountering difficulties locating it, inputting the Pawn's unique ID manually facilitates recruitment. This method ensures access to desired companions regardless of platform discrepancies.
