Palworld Update Adds Bellanoir Raid Boss, New Content, Implements Various QOL Improvements

Palworld's latest update, patch 0.2.0.6, introduces the game's first raid boss, Bellanoir, and also adds a lot of new content, such as buildings and gear, and implements a variety of quality-of-life improvements.

The game's developer, Pocketpair, surprised players with just how much the latest patch added to the base version that has already come out on Steam for PC and will come soon for Xbox players. The new update allows players to summon the game's first-ever raid boss, Bellanoir, using a new building.

The Summoning Altar works by adding a Pal slab, which would summon the specific creature for you to fight. The developer has said that these Pals are "very powerful" and cannot be captured by players. However, once defeated, they can drop Pal eggs that players can hatch later on to acquire the raid boss Pal.

The raids even feature an "extreme" version that is described as "incredibly powerful and difficult to defeat." On top of the Bellanoir raid, the new update adds a lot of new items, such as Training Manuals that provide EXP directly to your Pals, according to Forbes.

There are also new Recovery Meds that let players recover HP slowly over time so that they can be ready to face off against other deadly opponents. The Homeward Thundercloud is a new transportation item that will teleport players to their nearest base.

One of the QOL improvements that the new update added to Palworld is that when players aim their Pal spheres at a Pal, they will be able to see if they have reached the 10/10 limit for bonus experience for that specific species.

The new patch also adds a lot of new options for buildings back at the base, such as updating the Monitoring Stand to feature a checklist. This will let players select or deselect what specific tasks they want their base Pals to do and avoid.

A Lot of New Content and Improvements

The Ring of Mercy is another significant addition to the game that will let players who are wearing it be unable to outright kill a Pal and only keep it at 1 HP with their attacks. However, be careful as your Pals can still deal the killing blow unless they have the new Mercy Hit passive, said IGN.

For resource gatherers out there, the new Ore Mining Site and Ore Mining Site II have been added to the ancient technology tree. These will let your base Pals mine ore from the comfort of your own home and if the right Pals are used, at a much faster rate than simply going out and hitting rocks with your pickaxe.

Another minor but relatively welcome addition is that Kelpsea will not drop Pal Fluids when at the ranch and Dumud will not drop High-Quality Pal Oil in a similar manner. Regarding chests, the new patch adds a new filter system where players can select which type of items can go inside specific chests.

While the latest patch already has a lot of new content and improvements to Palworld, the game's developer hinted at another major patch coming in the summer of 2024. Pocketpair said that there will be never-before-seen scenery and adventures on a new island. This will be the home of many new Pals that will be added to the game, according to GamesRadar.
