Second Son protagonist Delsin Rowe's ability to absorb powers makes him one of the more powerful conduits in the inFamous universe, even more so the the lightning slinging badass that is...or was...Cole MacGrath. From smoke and neon to video and concrete, Delsin's multiple manipulation abilities make him truly dangerous. But when Sucker Punch began envisioning the character who would become Delsin, they had a lot more in mind. Concept artist Levi Hopkins revealed some of the powers cut from Second Son on his personal website.
In addition to the aforementioned powers over concrete and smoke, the art shows that Sucker Punch also considered giving Delsin the ability to manipulate glass and wire. No sign of that rumored paper power though.
It looks as though Hopkins had some serious ideas for the glass power. Concept art shows trails from a leaping Delsin, being able to use it for both offensive and defensive means, to coccoon enemies, or even use it to discourage pursuing enemies. Check out the art below:
The wire powers had similar functions, but seemed to be more about restricting enemies than anything else.
With the glass powers so detailed, it'd be hard to believe that they'll stay put on the cutting room floor. Perhaps we'll see it in some future DLC? Second Son Director Nate Fox talked about possibilities for DLC not too long ago, and while he didn't mention any specific powers, he didn't take any off the table either: "When your core DNA is someone getting superpowers and using them for good and evil - that's pretty wide. It's as wide as superhero fiction. So it's easy to get excited when you think, oh - it could be a man or a woman. It could be old or young. It could be any country, in any time, and you can still get that kind of basic conceit."
