Gotcha Gotcha Games has officially announced that Action Game Maker, the newest entry in its long-running "Maker" series, will launch on Steam June 16-with a fully-featured free demo available now through Steam Next Fest.

The title, developed by the Kadokawa subsidiary known for RPG Maker and Pixel Game Maker MV, Action Game Maker brings advanced 2D game creation to all skill levels. The toolkit features a drag-and-drop node system, full asset library, and Godot Engine 4.3 support-allowing users to create platformers, metroidvanias, horror games, and more without coding. The demo, which includes all program features, is available until June 19 ahead of the full $99.99 release.

"ACTION GAME MAKER is the most powerful 'Maker' title yet, while staying true to the series' no-coding-required formula," said Yusuke Morino, Producer at Gotcha Gotcha Games, in a statement sent to TechTimes via email. "It has been very fulfilling to see the amazing creations come out of the different entries into the 'Maker' series, so we are eager to see what kinds of action games everyone will create with ACTION GAME MAKER come June 16."

You won't need any programming experience to create your own game, here, as Action Game Maker includes a visual system of game making with advanced particle and shader systems, UI design tools, and more.

The Maker series traces back to the early 1990s with RPG Maker, first released in Japan in 1992, building on even earlier ASCII "Tsukūru" tools from the late 1980s . Fast forward to 2019, and Pixel Game Maker MV launched as a no-code, node-based 2D action toolkit from Gotcha Gotcha Games-built on JavaScript and designed to help users create platformers and shooters without coding . Now, Action Game Maker stands as the Maker series' most ambitious entry yet: it's the first to use the Godot Engine and expands creative control across genres via visual scripting, advanced lighting, shaders, and more .
