Cheetah Pokémon Becomes a Fan Favorite Idea
One of the most popular suggestions in the subreddit was a cheetah Pokémon, inspired by the animal's status as the fastest land mammal.
Fans proposed designs emphasizing speed-based abilities, with possible Electric-type or Electric/Flying-type combinations to reflect high velocity and agility. Some believe that it could outspeed Raiku, Manectric, and Liepard.
Some users even suggested a full evolution line starting from a baby cheetah, potentially introducing new movement mechanics or speed-focused battle strategies that could expand gameplay diversity.
Tiger and Wild Cat Concepts Gain Support
Another major request was for a traditional tiger Pokémon. Fans specifically called for a quadruped design that stays closer to real animal proportions rather than humanoid interpretations.
The idea of a classic tiger Pokémon has remained one of the community's most persistent wishes across multiple generations.
Other proposals included jungle-inspired feline species such as ocelots and fishing cats. Suggested typings ranged from Fighting-type variants to Water or Ground-type designs, especially for concepts tied to coastal or rainforest environments.
A Water/Ground "beach cat" concept also gained traction among fans anticipating a tropical or ocean-themed region for "Winds and Waves." It's a timely suggestion, especially since the next map will be centered in a Southeast Asian-inspired setting.
Regional Forms and Forgotten Concepts Resurface
The discussion also revived older or unused Pokémon ideas. Some fans pointed to the scrapped Gen 1 concept "Kotora," imagining a return as an Electric, Electric/Dark, or Electric/Ground evolutionary line.
Others proposed regional variants, including Dark/Electric versions of Shinx or ghost-type black cat Pokémon.
More imaginative ideas included Smilodon-inspired prehistoric cats, cloud-based floating felines, and even Dragon-type hybrid designs. Although we already got Chien-pao, some thought that this Ice-type feline is not really a pure Smilodon.
