Xbox's new CEO has a lot in store for the platform, and one of it is the new Xbox Player Voice program that has been steadily collecting community feedback.

There are recent changes to the Xbox console's operating system and experiences that were taken from players' suggestions via the new program, showing that it is an effective channel for gamers to voice their concerns.

Xbox Player Voice Community Feedback Changes Applied

Xbox Insiders can currently preview a new OS update for Xbox consoles that adjusts the playtime display from days to hours. The change came directly from feedback submitted through the Xbox Player Voice program, according to GameRant, with Xbox officially acknowledging the community's input.

In one update note shared by Microsoft, it said that "Starting today, play time will be displayed in total hours instead of days. Thanks for the feedback that helped shape this experience!"

PlayStation consoles have shown playtime in hours for years, but Xbox players had to manually do the math every time they wanted to know how long they had spent in a particular game.

Beyond the playtime change, the preview update also includes several bug fixes. The update addresses an issue where some badges would not appear on the profile page when viewing theme previews, and another where icon focus could disappear when navigating through menus. Various stability and performance fixes are also included.

Xbox engineers are additionally looking into known issues around Gamerscore badges and some games not appearing correctly in My Games and Apps.

Player Feedback Is Heard Thanks to the New Program

The Xbox Player Voice program is designed to be a place where Xbox players can submit their feedback and requests for the platform. As the company has stated, some ideas will move forward while others are not actioned upon, depending on the request.

The Xbox Player Voice program confirmed that Xbox fans want more exclusive games than anything else, though that kind of request is not something that can be addressed within just a few days.

The playtime fix is a small but encouraging sign that the feedback channel is functioning as intended.
