Avalanche Studios may be close to unveiling "Hogwarts Legacy 2," according to a new leak, and it would reportedly deliver the much-awaited sequel to the original game release three years ago.
'Hogwarts Legacy' Leak: Reveal, Announcement Coming Soon
A leaker that goes by the name "Tidux" shared a cryptic message on X last week which had fans excited as they immediately surmised that it was about the highly anticipated "Hogwarts Legacy 2" game.
The leaker said "SOP- HL2 Soon," with fans assuming that SOP was referring to PlayStation's games showcase event, State of Play, as one is set to take place soon.
Following the leaker's post, Sony officially confirmed that a State of Play event is scheduled for June 2. It is widely expected that "Marvel's Wolverine" would be one of the biggest games to be discussed in the upcoming State of Play.
That said, Tidux still believes that "Hogwarts Legacy 2" may be addressed in this upcoming State of Play event. However, many consider the leaker as not that reliable when it comes to new information given their inconsistent track record.
Digital Trends reported that Tidux's claim may have some backing as Avalanche Studios recently hired a Community Manager and Video Capture Artist, which are both known for helping work on marketing and trailers, respectively. The timing also lines up with a broader strategy from Warner Bros.
Warner Bros. Games will surely want "Hogwarts Legacy 2" to release somewhere near the HBO TV show, which is set to debut this Christmas. If the game is revealed at the June 2 State of Play, a spring or summer 2027 launch window becomes very feasible.

Previous Leaks About 'Hogwarts Legacy' Sequel
Earlier reports had shared different speculations about the upcoming sequel, with previous leaks suggesting that "Hogwarts Legacy 2" will focus on a live service game and center on multiplayer experiences.
This live service game would reportedly offer more open-world experiences and have players interact with one another while exploring an entirely new story.
However, it was later disputed by other reports, with leakers claiming that there will be a separate multiplayer game that is different the main "Hogwarts Legacy 2" game, which is still set to be a single-player RPG.
Warner Bros. Discovery CFO Gunnar Wiedenfels had previously said that a successor to "Hogwarts Legacy" was one of the company's biggest priorities "a couple of years down the road," signaling strong internal support for the franchise moving forward.
No official confirmation from Warner Bros. Games or Avalanche Software has been made as of writing, and all details remain based on rumors for now.
