Super Smash Bros For Wii U And 3DS: New Update Reveals Ike's Powerful Eruption Ability [SCREEN]

Super Smash Bros Pic of the Day Displays Ike's Powerful Eruption Attack

The last major Super Smash Bros. character reveal came in the form of a Nintendo Direct video, which showed off several new playable characters that would be joining the roster. We learned about newcomer Greninja, the water type from Pokemon X and Y, along with a few others.

Check Out The Recap Of The Latest Super Smash Bros. Reveals

The daily picture posts on the game's official website haven't been revealing as many details--at least not at once--as the Direct video did, but you can certainly rely on their consistency.

Today's update doesn't show off a new character, but does give us a look at one of the recently revealed ones. Ike was the latest roster unveiling, and he'll be bringing his strong arsenal of attacks back to Super Smash Bros.

Take A Look At Ike's Unveiling Here

One of these moves in Eruption, pictured above, which series director Masahiro Sakurai explains in the caption accompanying the post:

"Pic of the day. You can charge up Ike's Eruption attack by holding the button down, but remember to release it right before it fully charges to avoid recoil damage. Let go of the button at the moment the sword shines!"

This is Ike's normal 'B' special anyone who played Brawl will be familiar with, and it damages Ike a small amount if he unleashes it fully charged. If you hit the right timing, indicated by the sword flashing, you can do massive damage without hurting yourself.

Keep checking back for more Super Smash Bros. news ahead of E3, which will hopefully include an early specific release date announcement or another character reveal.
