The Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and 3DS details will keep coming from Nintendo ahead of the staggered release of both versions, even after all the excitement from E3. Today, in addition to the normal daily post, multiple new characters have been revealed.

Is Rayman The Next Super Smash Bros Challenger?

Nintendo revealed Captain Falcon alongside Fire Emblem's Lucina and Robin as playable characters in a pre-made trailer, having told us last week that the announcement was coming this morning. You can watch the video below, which shows off footage of the three in combat as well as some pre-rendered scenes.

Combined with Marth and Ike, that now makes four Fire Emblem characters on the Super Smash Bros roster. The video includes gameplay clips as well as an animated scene of the three new characters doing battle against one another, with Robin coming to Lucina's aid.

You can also play as a female version of Robin, a message announced at the end of the video. Captain Falcon looks to be bringing back his old array of tricks and abilities, from fire uppercuts to, of course, the Falcon Punch. Robin has a more unique skillset, it appears, combining a spellbook and sword. His tome can only be used a certain number of times before he'll be forced to toss it aside--hence the need for the sword.

It's less clear what Lucina's specialty will be, as she didn't really appear in the gameplay footage section of the video. More details are undoubtedly forthcoming, as the new reveals give Sakurai more information to pull from for the daily updates.
