Rayman Creator Michel Ancel Unveils PS4 Exclusive 'WiLD' Trailer At Gamescom; New IP Will Let You Play As Anything In Europe-Sized World [VIDEO]

Wild, New IP From Rayman Creator Michel Ancel, Shows Off A Giant World And Lets You Play Any Creature In It Only On PS4

One of the big surprises in yesterday's Gamescom surpriseapalooza was the announcement trailer for Wild Sheep's new PS4-exclusive title, WiLD.

Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel! Gamescom Trailer And News

Wild Sheep is the company founded by legendary game designer Michel Ancel. If that's a name you don't recognize, you'll recognize his work. He developed the ever classic Rayman series and the 'Jesus, just make a sequel already!' Beyond Good And Evil. He knows how to make a really, really good game is what I am saying.

No plot details were given about the game in the trailer. It was merely an invitation, a National Geographic tour of the world. That world, however, is the size of Europe and every inch explorable. Dynamic weather effects and even seasons will be in place, too.

New IP Hellblade Is Looking Celtic And Awesome

Ancel took to blogging about the game over at the PlayStation site. The unnamed land is populated with humans, wolves, sheep, horses, giants and all manner of fauna. But the best part, the revolutionary part, is that you can play every single one of them.

Getting tired of walking? Create a horse and run everywhere! Want to explore up river? Make a trout and go swimming. You can even play the not so nice creatures and the dangerous ones. The possibilities are nearly endless.

The trailer itself is epic and soaring. Giant birds float over the land. Hunters fire off arrow after arrow before being confronted with some sort of shapeshifter. Skeletons come to life and talk. One sweeping moment has a group of characters swimming underwater towards a giant skeleton that is just breathtaking.

No word on when WiLD will be released but we are very, very much looking forward to it. Check out the Gamescom trailer below.
