Hunger Games 3 Tickets On Sale Today: Katniss Goes To War In Final Official Trailer For Mockingjay - Part 1 [VIDEO]
The final trailer for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1 has been released three weeks ahead of the film's universal debut on November 21.
To say that 'stuff is getting real' does little justice to the realness of all things. Mockingjay completely eschews the Battle Royale-esque foundation upon which the first two books and films were based on and goes into full on war mode.
We get a glimpse at Julianne Moore at the beginning, who is playing the president of the still alive District 13 (a brief but very vital thread in the books that was lost in the first two films; the reveal at the end of film two came as if it were conjured out of a story someone was writing on the fly) and a few shots of the late, great Philip Seymour Hoffman. But then it is all sound and fury for a little over a minute.
Even casual fans can be moved by the spirit of rebellion. At its core, the Hunger Games series is about just that: rebellion against those who seek to oppress. The oppressors is the very corporate Capitol, under the command of President Snow. And yet this tale of scraggly outsiders (they are literally on the furthest edge of the country) is one of the most influential, and profitable, corporate brands in existence. Irony, thy name is Hunger Games.
But it is first and foremost, a rousing tale of adventure and survival, hung around great performances from the always stellar Jennifer Lawrence (and the even-better Lenny Kravitz, of course).
Tickets are on sale now. Those who buy tickets via Fandango within the first 24 hours will receive a free VUDU copy of The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, and even a chance to win a trip to the premiere event in London. Head on over to Fandango to purchase yours.
